Platon has been updated to the 16 Oct 2008 version.
Available through yum as usual.
For those who don’t want to set up the repo:
PS: I made a mistake in the name… debroglie appears twice… This will be corrected next time, I don’t think there will be any consequences.

Updated Olex2 testing repo with version 20081018svn of Olex2. This corresponds to svn image 217.
Lots of svn updates, not certain what if any of them do for the Linux user.
Enjoy

I know I planned to only do weekly updates of Olex2 but somehow I’ve manage to get two in this week alone.
Please find the latest Olex2 build on the repo. This version is much larger than before to incorporate the olex2-gui snapshot, just in case their servers go down again

Jana 2000 is available in the branch test of the repo.
Here is some information until I write a static page about it:
Jana2000 is a crystallographic program focused to solution, refinement and interpretation of difficult, especially modulated structures. It calculates structures having up to three modulation vectors from powder as well as single crystal data measured with X-ray or neutron diffraction. The input diffraction data can be unlimitedly combined, the combination of powder neutron data with single crystal X-ray data being a typical example.

For those who don’t want to set up the repo. Which is not working for Fedora 9 anyway

Sorry, I left a require in the fedora repo which has been corrected. New release on the server should filter through shortly.
Rather later than planned and after a rather long afternoon and erm evening of tinkering we have olex2 for all.
Olex2 is still in the debroglie-test repo/channel
Final build for centos utillises the debroglie python2.5 install which is also in the testing repo (nice work by P.) I’ve now rebuilt it for x86_64.
So in short for all you centos 5 people you should hopefully have a working copy.
Saying that the olex2 servers are still down so you won’t have a GUI until that is resolved!
Unfortunately Olex2 requires python2.5 to build and centos doesn’t currently support that version of python.
Don’t worry a fix is in hand but it is going to delay things.
Sorry, again.
Olex2 is set to be updated for all supported distributions this afternoon. However as with all perfect plans the actual olex2 GUI servers are down.
The current rpm utilises the GUI server to fetch the latest gui for the user on first run. Therefore until the server is back up and running olex2 won’t work for new users. Users who installed prior to 09/10/08 should be ok.
To try and avoid this rather embarrassing problem from happening again in the future the xforum and olex2 are working together to setup a mirror system. This will of course take a while.
In the next release (next Saturday) a snapshot GUI will also be added to the rpm (increasing the rpm size) but helping also to remove this problem.
Sorry for any inconvience.
Olex2 RPM has been updated to svn version 178. From next week snapshots of the svn for fedora9 and centos will be available and updated weekly.
