I changed a few things in the settings of the blog. You have to be logged in to comment. No worry, you don’t need to create an account on Debroglie you can just login via facebook, twitter, google or linkedin. You will see an icon on the login page.

[Errno -3] Error performing checksum

On centos 5 yum is complaining with the error:
debroglie/primary_db | 64 kB 00:00 http://centos.debroglie.net/RPMS/5/repodata/primary.sqlite.bz2: [Errno -3] Error performing checksum

The server is now on centos 6 and createrepo is using a hash that centos 5 does not understand by default. I fixed the problem now (createrepo -d -s sha1). If you still have an error try: “yum clean all” first.

A slight cockup during my planned update of Olex2, Olex2-gui and CCTBX has sadly left the repo without any archived versions! Sorry. I’ve replaced 10, 11, 12, 13 and Centos with the latest 1.1 version, the CCTBX and I am in the process of doing the same for Fedora 8 (Linpus support). However this will leave 9 users stuck – sorry I am a muppet and expect to get a telling off by Pascal.

All of the updates are being placed into repo-test as I have been experimenting with the userspace update scripts. This may eat your Olex2! Report it to TRAC if it does.

Two new things today:

I replaced trac with redmine. It’s in ruby and quite tricky to install on Centos but I recently found a nice tutorial (Redmine on Centos [fr]). So here is the link: http://redmine.debroglie.net.

I just set up a planet on Debroglie after some discussions on the x-ray forum and John. If you have a rss feed for your software, blog, website… You can register as long as it’s talking about crystallography. The link is: http://planet.debroglie.net.

Ok, so the planet has stalled slightly because the simplepie feed catcher is running out of puff on the cron process and getting killed.

Platon has been updated and all good and there is now a new cctbx in the testing repo.

Debroglie downtime

Debroglie had a hardware failure yesterday evening. The motherboard has been changed and Debroglie is running again. So far I have not seen any data loss.

Fedora 10 EOL

This announcement is a reminder that as of 2009-12-17, Fedora 10 has
reached its end of life for updates.[1]

Debroglie will continue to ship updates for fedora 10 for a little while as statistics reveal some activity on the repo. Please send an email or post a comment to confirm, so we won’t close it.

Ok, Pascal is going to shout at me and that is ok. I’ve not been posting my updates to the repo so things are not really up 2 date here. Sorry.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve posted:

Two new CCTBX to the testing repo;

A new Platon release;

A new package Moliso to the testing repo + two updates for it;

A chemistry fonts rpm to the testing repo and an update for it; and

A fixed rpy1 release to the FC11 testing repo

With that in mind I’ve had no feedback good or bad in that respect.

In the pipeline with the latest Beta release of Olex2 will be a new set of RPMs to follow the Alpha, Beta, Stable model they are using. We will have the good, the bad and the ugly or the bad and the ugly and the normal if you want. This means that all three versions can be installed at the same time for testing but the alpha and beta will live solely in the test-repo only the stable will exist in the release repo. Hopefully that will work?

Fedora 12 repository is finally open. If you are knew, in order to use debroglie, just install the debroglie-release rpm as specified in: Setup the repository link.
