There is a review request for python 2.6 on bugzilla for centos 5: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=573151 When this is going to be pushed to EPEL, all dependances on python 2.5 will be replaced by this new python 2.6 and python 2.5 rpms removed from the Debroglie centos repository.

python2.5 bug
There is a bug in the python2.5 rpm for centos. python-config is broken. This means you can’t compile olex2 or anythinh using python-config on centos but the rpm of olex2 is working . I am trying to find the reason of this.

Olex2, python2.5 Updated
Thanks to Fred Hollander who has tracked, sadly via trial and error, some missing dependencies for the Centos install. I’ve corrected these, put in the latest SVN and a new GUI snapshot. Enjoy Consequently, python2.5 and python2.5-imaging have been updated as well to correct some bugs also revealed by Fred. Pascal, hijacking John’s post
